There was a time when the world was different. The grass was green and lush. Rivers and streams ran through forests full of life. The breeze carried the sounds of joy and laughter on invisible wings. Now it is nothing but a barren wasteland. There is no more grass. No more water. No sounds of joy or laughter. Cities that stood tall and proud are nothing but ruins haunted by memories.
There was a time when we had everything. But it is scary how quickly everything can become nothing.

I gave up on this book sorry!!!! Prologue: The sky had always been a canvas of infinite shades; serene blues, fiery oranges, and dusky purples that whispered the passing of time. But tonight, it was an unforgiving black, thick and suffocating, as if the stars themselves had fled in terror. The wind, once a gentle lullaby, now carried with it the stench of decay, a bitter harbinger of the nightmare that had begun to unfold. It started as a whisper in the farthest corners of the earth, a murmur of sickness that no one paid much mind. A fever here, a violent cough there-symptoms too common to cause alarm. The news reports were fleeting, overshadowed by politics and celebrity scandals. But as the days turned into weeks, the whisper grew louder, more insistent. Hospitals overflowed, bodies piled up, and the once indifferent world began to notice. By then, it was too late. The first to rise were the ones who had died in fear, their final moments spent in frantic horror. The infection moved like wildfire, an unseen hand turning the once living into twisted mockeries of life. These creatures, driven by an insatiable hunger, spread chaos across the globe. Cities burned, governments crumbled, and humanity was brought to its knees. In the midst of this chaos, there were those who fought to survive, clinging to the remnants of a world that was slipping through their fingers. Not As It Seems
This is a trilogy. Orphans accidentally stumble upon a magical world with blue grass & green sky. Everything seems wonderful at first, but it's all not as it seems... This story, these characters, have brought me comfort more times than I could count, they have saved me in every way possible. When it felt like I had no one, I always had them. When I felt sad or lonely, this world was a place I could hide. This world felt like my only home. I've been writing this story since I was 17, and it's hard to believe that I'm finally releasing it a couple months before I turn 21. But certain parts and characters were in my head from as young as 5. It's time to not gate keep this story anymore, and let it out into the world for people to hopefully enjoy. I hope these characters feel like your best friends, just like they did to me. I love writing so much, it's the only thing that makes me feel like I'm being completely myself. ~ Brody Bennett 💜 I apologise for any spelling or grammar mistakes.
