Will Prescott has lived his life in fear. At the age of three, he could feel his mom's emotions when she was mad at him. At the age of seven, he could hear his first crush's thoughts. At the age of thirteen, he could close his eyes and see what his brother was seeing while he was supposed to be concentrating in detention. At the age of 16, his brother died in a car crash and his world imploded. His strange powers grew in grief, and the grief grew even more when his house was attacked, taking his parents from him as well. Will, without a family, had the CIA approach him, offering protection from those who wanted to corrupt him. He only had to give one thing in return; train to become an agent.
