But peace was supplanted by conflict, and the dragons became ensnared in the powerful magic of humankind to make their war. Thus came the Second Age, an age of brutal enslavement. In a great war of mankind, the end of the Second Age came when the eldest and most powerful of wyrms slipped the bonds of their masters, vowing never again to submit to the yoke of another race.
