Humans have myths of beasts and monsters. Not knowing that they exist.
Aria has lived through the French vampire purge of 1849, alongside her friend Stephen. Having fled to a new countries over different centuries, they must survive.
When they came to America during the Civil War, Stephen had been betrayed by a witch, along with the other vampires and other mythical beasts who seek to find solace and peace, but always find hostility and hatred.
Having escaped two purges, and traveled far north for centuries, she returns to the states and meets a curious man who she assumes is human, but he has a secret.
He's an animal shifter. His name is Daniel Wood.
They must work together to get to the mausoleum where the vampires and beasts are cursed to live, starve and mummify for eternity. Aria's done looking for peace when all she gets is hatred.
She's not looking for love, just her friend, but the mysterious Daniel has a way to sneak pass every wall she puts up.
And it doesn't help that his blood just smells so damn good.
