So college is definitely not what George expected, let alone America itself. He was finally leaving the house and hopefully his introverted lifestyle behind as he went to his dream school with his best friend Karl by his side. George and Clay had known each other since they were incredibly young. Their friendship was indescribable, it was like they were tied together and would always find each other again. And that was true except now they were only like that by two small bracelets, one blue and one green. Clay's timetable had gotten more and more busy and he had less time for George eventually resulting to a null. A friendship that was once inseparable was now long gone, just memories of better times as Clay's life became hell. The days became repetitive, school, train, sleep. Every day was the same as the one before and the one after. Only George had to find a way to fix this, as he made a promise he would never forget. George hasn't had an easy life after being diagnosed with autism. Going to a public school as an autistic, highly intelligent boy, he clearly notices the differences between his classmates and himself, giving him a lot of insecurity and shame about his own behaviour. As his escape, he goes to a bakery for hours a day to calm his mind, but things change when a new boy who moved is hired. Unexpectedly, and for the first time, George decides to open himself up to the new boy, Clay, while at the same time, Clay slowly starts falling for his new best friend, George. Mostly fluff with some angst every now and then! ⚠️ I wrote this book from my own experience and my own mindset, as someone with diagnosed autism, highly intelligent and ADHD. I DON'T think people with autism are childish or cute, I'm not projecting a stereotype. This is from my own struggles with autism at a public school without special needs.

George is 17 and in his last year of high school when he gets terrible news. After having weird nosebleeds, strange bruises and a lot of dizziness, the doctors find out George has leukaemia. George's best friend, Clay, is there the whole day for George and as George fights his battle against leukaemia, Clay supports him in every way possible. He shaves his head too and is there with George in all of his chemos. He buys George his favourite beanies and even let someone make one for him. But doctors start to lose hope of George ever getting better and since there is no match for a stem cell transplantation, there is only one person left to help him. Dream was always affectionate to George, who invited him to Florida for Christmas. However, George never returned the love and pushed Dream away. George and Clay had formed a close friendship since they met in a Minecraft server and knew they lived close to one another in real life. Yet little did George know, that the person he knew as Dream online was actually his bully in real life. After a rough time at school from all the bullying, Dream was always there to comfort him even though he was the one doing the damage. Clay was the one who was poisoning George with his words full of nothing but his own pain. There's a camp coming up and both of them are looking forward to it, until they find out who they are in a room with. The days creep closer and George tries to find every way out of it, but there doesn't seem that there is one... So his friends try to set him up with someone in time for it, though for some reason George's lab partner Clay seems too curious about the outcome.
