In 1962 it looked like the Beatles were finally getting their big break; they had a real manger, they were recording songs, and their popularity was soaring to new heights. However, one thing stops them in their paths. They realize that they have another concert set up in Hamburg, at the Star Club, on Christmas, and New Years. This is extremely down-heartening, especially after Stuart's recent death, and one Beatle takes the news especially hard. George has already quit the band once to do something else, and he decides to quit once again, prompting his friends to be shocked and very dismayed. It seems that George's mind is made up, but when he has a visit from a completely unexpected visitor that can't logically be talking to George at all, his decision starts to waver. After the visitor gives George an other worldly adventure showing him what could happen if he quits the band, might George change his mind? After all, can he really let the fates he sees end up being the fates of his best mates? (This is sort of a take off of It's a Wonderful Life, only because a character is shown what 'could be' if he doesn't change his mind. I got this idea because George really did quit the Beatles once, and I imagine he was very disheartened when he learned they had to play in Germany on Christmas and New Years, which was also true.)

There was the mob, all reaching and grabbing at something on the ground. Several of them were screaming bloody murder (due to the excitement of the fallen Beatle or because they were being pushed and shoved was unknown). "Paul McCartney! It's him!" they shrieked in utter amazement as they ripped at his hair and his clothes.... The year is 1964, and The Beatles have made it big...maybe a little too big, for, everywhere they go, they're ambushed by fan girls. Usually, the lads from Liverpool are quicker than the crowd, but, one day, the fans happen to grab a hold of none other than The Beatles' bassist, Paul McCartney, effectively beating his body and mind to a pulp. This angst/hurt comfort story tells the tale of Paul McCartney, who has been scarred by the brutality of his attack, and his three friends, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, who are trying their best to help Paul and his paranoid state of mind. Will the three friends help Paul? Or will they only make his situation worse? If so, will Paul go so far as to quit being a Beatle? Read "I'll Cry Instead" to find out! The four have only just finished playing on the Ed Sullivan show, and are dismayed by the fact they don't have the slightest idea of how to get home to continue their concerts in America. They search this new place, and finally find a small village. Though they are warned by someone they meet in this unusual village that the ring Ringo found is an important link between worlds, and that many people in this land will do anything to get their hands on it, the Beatles ignore his warning and soon meet someone they decide they can trust as a friend; after all, this new friend looks and acts just like Ringo. However, after they spend a night in the Ringo clone's shack for shelter, they are forced to leave him behind to continue their search for a way home. Yet, there is a catch. Now Ringo himself has begun to act strangely, and the rest of the Beatles are beginning to seriously wonder if somehow the two Ringos got switched. Still, if they did, how? And why? (Keep in mind that this story is completely different from anything else I have ever written. It was an experiment in the fantasy genre, and it goes in completely different and unusual directions. Unlike my many mystery filled Beatles stories of which there will probably be more, this one was most likely a one time experiment.)
