This is fanfiction based on the James Dashner Trilogy The Maze Runner. I do not own any of the characters. Time setting is the third book/movie The Death Cure. Alternate universe Newt doesn't get bitten in the tunnel to the city. Alternate chain of events inside the city.
"Thomas don't listen to her," Newt said protectively, "she's lying to you. We have to get out of here Tommy, we have to get Minho out of here. Let's just go."
"No Thomas please, trust me," Teresa pleaded, "you're the best hope we have to stop this virus."
"Trust is earned," I spat like acid, "and you destroyed what little trust I had for you when you betrayed us."
"Thomas please, I was just doing my job. I was just trying to find a cure for this virus. You have to understand-"
"Nothing, I have to understand nothing Teresa," I snapped, cutting her off, "you weren't just doing your job, you were just helping your own self interest."
"That's not true Thomas, you're my friends. Please Thomas I'm beggin-"
"No Teresa, I don't care what you want. You could've gotten Newt captured or worse, killed and I can't forgive that."
"What?" Newt questioned, "What do you mean Tommy? I wasn't the only one there when she threw us under the damn bus. Why are you focusing just on me?"
"Because I love you dammit." I blurted out before I could stop myself, "that's why I'm focusing on you, that's why I've always been focusing on you."

Living in the Scorch has not been easy for (Y/n), but she manages to get by. With her father Jorge beginning to loose control of their compound, she's finding it difficult to stay. All she wants is to be free, to explore the Scorched world, but on one stormy night, she finds that some new people have survived in the Scorch and found their way to her home. It's been a while since newcomers had arrived, so this intrigues her. She then meets Thomas and his crew whom of which are trying to find the Right Arm just like her father. One boy in particular, a young sarcastic boy with great hair, catches her eye. Seeing the opportunity, (Y/n) decides to help them in exchange for being a part of their group. She has to get them through the Scorch safely to find the Right Arm, and she can't help but fall for that young sarcastic boy, but she isn't the only one with a small crush. A certain British blonde boy has fallen for their fearless leader, but with this love interest being conflicted, will Thomas return the feeling? There are challenges, people get taken, and with the flare becoming airborne, anything can happen. Will they make it to the Right Arm or will WICKED beat them to it? Or maybe, death will. (This is a Minho fanfic that is based primarily on the movies, though some aspects will be from the books. So, I watched The Maze Runner: The Death Cure last week - and I am so not okay with that ending! Newt should have survived! So I've taken matters into my own hands and re-wrote the ending. With Newtmas being eventually canon of course! or Where everything's the same except that Brenda, Minho and Gally arrive a minute earlier to save Newt's life and even make it out of the city with the perfect cure made from Thomas' blood. What if?
What if... Teresa never went with Thomas when she died, but instead, got the serum and went to try to save Newt without anyone knowing. Everyone would be gone to the Safe Heaven thinking Newt and Teresa are dead. But 1 month later, Newt woke up, healthy again and cured. Newt and Teresa then make a team to try and get back to the Safe Heaven where is everyone. This is an alternative end for The Maze Runner : The Death Cure (because I'm clearly still not over Newt's death and I'm so mad that they killed him, so yeah...)
