Set before Khan's attack on San Francisco and goes from there. 
     Khan meets a girl and tries to kill her mother and then, by chance, they are reunited again later on, their roles practically reversed. Despite Khan's cruelty and savagery, she is determined to help him even though the rest of the world wants him to burn for the crimes he had committed in his futile attempts to save his family...and he can't figure out why she is so different from everyone else or why she cares. 
     In his world, people are cruel and uncaring: no one could ever care about a monster like him...not with his crew presumed dead.
     But Ze'eva (the girl) isn't like that.
     She fights for him and treats him like a human being despite his faults and his horrendous crimes. Little by little, he begins to lower his walls and become integrated into her family...but will all be lost when disaster decides to strike?
