Below the surface of the water, a young merman is turning 18. It is a time that is sacred to Merfolk. On the full moon following their birthday, they are sent to the surface to breed with other young merfolk from the other tribes. Out of all his sisters, Nate is the future of his people. Nate is excited to go to the surface but not for the reasons his clan wants. He's hoping to see something more... and as a violent storm rolls in. Nate gets more than he ever bargained for. After saving the life of a young Irish prince, Nate can think of nothing else. What wouldn't he give to be with the man he loves?  With the help of his best friend, Nate hopes to finally be happy with people that understand him. However... the price is expensive and could cost him more than he realized if Sean doesn't love him in return.

They decide to go to the area where the dark past took place. When they dwell deeper inside, they discover something truly magical.
