Hila Llyte: Dailan takes place five years before the events of Book 1: Family Business. They may be read in any order. 

STORY SUMMARY
Hila Llyte is a freighter captain. When work is slow, she undertakes unorthodox jobs for the criminal underworld. Jobs that pay well for her particular skills. 
When Hila is offered the job to kill someone, she accepts. 
A lonely businesswoman and a couple of prostitutes provide a welcome distraction from the grisly work. However, the spectre of her past and the uncertainty of her future make Hila question if her present is worth the sacrifices she's making.
