Hermione's brother Caspian, has been missing ever since her father died when she was 11. Before they found out she was a witch. After Dumbledore dies, she is sent to live with her grandfather Diggory Kirke otherwise known as Professor Kirke, because of the upcoming war in the wizarding world. And because her mother died. While at the mansion, she meets the Pevensie children. Lucy; age 14, Edmund; age 16, Susan; age 18, and Peter; age 20. She discovers that they have also been to Narnia. Of course she has been to Narnia seeing as she is the guardian of Narnia. When she is in Narnia for the second time, with the Pevensies, she meets Prince Caspian.
