So far it's been a disaster since these creatures have been nothing but hostile towards them since the beginning and now have to resort with "kidnapping", study them, and take care of them in the hopes that they will finally agree with trying to build a bond between the multiple species of the land living. For Lydia, she's in charge of her branch of this study. It's her job to try and figure out how to help and repair the relationship. So far.... it's just going at a snails pace.
