Beryl had always thought she was normal. A normal SkyWing, with a normal dragonet, living a perfectly normal life of shielding her dragonet from the War on the outskirts of the Sky kingdom. But when she founds out she had a past life as a SandWing thief called Arid, she sets off to make past wrongs right and re-find herself with the help of her daughter and her friends.

Arid had always thought she was odd. An odd SandWing, with an even odder family, all with an odd liking for snagging trinkets and treasure from other dragon's houses. But one day she takes it too far and steal's from one of Queen Scarlet's top guards and gets caught. When the queen finds out she has notes on the Royal Treasury, she is enchanted by a dragon who the queen called 'Chameleon'.
