Ever since that day when Ash Ketchum won against his mother in the World Coronation Series, when she started to show more interest in her duties as a Champion and as a Trainer than her own family, Vali started to dislike Pokemon in general, as they remind him of her. But when a fateful encounter with a Pokemon ends up saving his life, something lingering inside of him awakens and reminds him who he truly is. But is this really enough to bring back the love that he used to have for Pokemon? Vali will soon find himself caught in the center of dangerous activities. After visiting with her family and friends in Pallet Town, she headed to Cerulean Cape to visit Bill, who started up Crystal's PC Pokémon storage system. Bill was in the middle of an experiment and Crystal offers to help, which brings her the ability of a Ditto: the ability to change into any Pokémon. That is, with practice.
