High above the Anchored Earth, burrowed into one of the many floating islands scattered above an endless, ravenous storm, is a grand city. It is called Centris, and it stands alone in its majesty and mastery of the skyclad world.

This City is starting to die.

The Heart, the benevolent sentience which sustains life miles above the ground, is choked and slowly suffocated by twisted alabaster tendrils. A weed, a mind, an invasive thought tries to pry the life from its core. Society crumbles under the weight of its ambition, the government freezes in fear of itself. The colony-island Priat senses weakness, and once again dreams of fire and freedom. Deep in the depths of the City, the least among her people are hunted by monsters born of terror and longing.

Against the aligned will of entropy stands the Speaker, chosen of the Heart and executor of the will of the City, a thaumaturgy-wielding bureaucrat with an uncut soul. His devotion to his City propels him across the strange world of Centris, encountering her people and battling her enemies.

| 𝟳𝘅 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗗 ·|| HUNGER GAMES x CINDER || ONC 2023 Honorable Mention Amidst the escalating unrest between the windborne utopian city of Lighthaven and its seedy, oppressed underbelly Fumedge, the Grand Duke of Lighthaven, Lucius Sextus, comes up with an ingenious solution. To provide much-wanted respite from the brewing conflict, and achieve the apparent-if-temporary unity, he organizes Gaslight Trials - a highly entertaining panem-et-circenses combat event in the Pits. The combatants may use all steam and thaumaturgy powered augmentations at their disposal, and there is only one rule: defeat, or be defeated. The reward for the last one standing? A chance to start their life anew. A brass key to the city of Lighthaven with a luxurious mansion to call their own within, as well as an aeroship to command. When eighteen-year-old Veda Igglesden steps forward to take her timeworn adoptive father's place in the fight, she might as well be signing her death-sentence. With her eyes fully set on the prize, act-first-think-later Veda must harness the power of technology to try and win for her Papa Otto. Decades of breathing in the toxic air of Fumedge did a number on the old inventor's lungs, and being able to live in the air-filtered Lighthaven would sure come in handy right about now. A high-flying adventure full of gadgetry and intrigue; a pleasing blend of steampunk and postapocalyptic. See Veda unravel the mysterious ploy behind the game's organization, and uncover the truth about her secret origins. Can she cope both with the trials of physical and intellectual prowess, as well as with the trials of life itself: those of love, loss and regret? © 2023 EvelynHail Exclusively on Wattpad Based on prompt 49! 21 parts Ongoing
In the distant future of the year 10072, the Earth has long forgotten its human inhabitants. Now, the world is divided among four mighty elemental kingdoms: the Cloud Kingdom, the Forest Kingdom, the Ice Kingdom, and the Stone Kingdom. Their lands are shaped by their powers, their histories marked by ancient conflicts and forgotten lore. Amidst this fractured world, a lone figure stirs in a desolate desert once home to humanity. When Zans awakens, he has no memory of who he is or how he ended up in this unforgiving wasteland. His only clue to his past is a weathered journal he uncovers, marked with the cryptic words "Project Zans." Guided by the journal and driven by an elusive sense of purpose, Zans ventures into an oasis where he encounters the magical Forest Kingdom. Here, he meets curious sprites and an ancient, wise tree who hints at deeper secrets buried within the realm of elemental magic. With the guidance of Glacius, a knowledgeable iceman from the Ice Kingdom, Zans embarks on a perilous journey across the kingdoms, from the cloud-wrapped heights of Ethestal to the stony realm of giants. As Zans delves into the mysteries of his identity and the ancient conflict between humans and the elemental realms, he uncovers startling truths about his own role in this elemental world. With each step, he pieces together the fragmented history of a forgotten era and the powerful forces that shaped it. A spellbinding tale of discovery and destiny set in a richly imagined future where elemental magic and ancient legacies collide. Perfect for fans of epic fantasy, this story weaves together adventure, mystery, and the quest for self-discovery in a world where every element holds a key to unlocking the past.
