Kali Evermore lived a life of luxury, a life she never wanted. Everything she wanted was always handed to her in a silver plate, literally. As a child she would stay down at the stables, and listen to the stable master tell his tales of the sea. After her parents start trying to find her suitors, she runs away. She joins a crew to a ship called the 'The Doves Wing.' She hides herself as a boy named Jack Kidd, but everyone just calls her Kidd. In a raging storm The Doves Wing is sunken, and almost everyone dies. When Kidd is pulled from her watery grave by a Pirate she learns how tough life really can be. She is alone on a ship full of Brutes and murders will only her parrot, Chan, to keep her company.

Will Kidd be able to keep her secret hidden long enough to escape or will the son of Blackbeard steal her away forever?
