Zyah opens her mouth to do just that, but she ends up lowering her gaze and heaving an irritated sigh.

"I can't, okay? I can't because I don't want you out. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I've been stuck with you for a while now and I'm used to having you around. I could make a list of reasons I shouldn't ever see you again. But, instead, here I amㅡ staring at your stupid face, with your stupid gorgeous eyes and your even stupid-er lips that I just wanna kiss butㅡ" she cuts herself off, groaning in frustration.

"Why did I say that, why did I say that?" She shuts her eyes, mentally punching herself.

"You know what?" she opens her eyes, letting out a pained laugh. "I am going to make sure I stay away from you. Even if I have to chain myself up and lock myself in another Prison World."

Kai is frowning, eyes filled with pain and regret as he looks at her and listens to her words. "I already feel guilty," he sighs out, gaze dropping to her lips. "But, you know what I'm going to feel guilty about the most?"

"What?" she raises a brow in annoyance.

"This," he replies, leaning down to capture her lips with hers.

A story about a girl who loves too hard and a boy who doesn't love at all... "Lets talk about last night." He smirks. "No." I shake my head. "What? Why not? It was hot." "Why did you even sleep with me?" I ask. "I don't know. I was bored I guess." He shrugs. "Screw you." I get up and go back into the house. I walk into my room. Kai trails in behind me. He closes the door and gives me a weird look. I start to throw his clothes at him as I fight the tears in my eyes. "Am I missing something?" He raises his voice. "Leave. I don't want you here." I pick up his t-shirt. "You wanna tell me why?" "I'm tired of you using me. I'm not an object, Kai. You can't just use me for sex asshole." I chuck his hoodie at him. "Okay, okay. Stop with the clothes." He says. "I want you gone!" I yell causing his suitcase to fly across the room. He quickly ducks before it hits him. "Oh my god. I'm so sorry." I quickly rush over to him. "I didn't know that was going to happen. Are you alright?" "Nat, I'm fine." He stands up. "Good. Now leave." I cross my arms. "No, you told me our sex didn't mean anything to you, so why are you mad at me?" "I lied." I say. "It means a lot to me, especially when it's with you." I stare into his eyes. "I don't know what you want me to do." He looks away. "I want you to tell me it meant something to you. Tell me you didn't have sex with me just because you were bored." I grab his hands. "If I told you it meant something, then I'd be lying. It didn't mean anything to me." He locks eyes with me.

[𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞] Melody Marie de Cosmo believed she'd escaped the consequences that accompanied the supernatural world when she moved away for a semester. Upon returning to her hometown, she's met with multiple changes she must adjust to. The biggest? Mystic Falls' newest resident - Kai Parker, a handsome heretic that made the blood of her friends run cold. He was intriguing, sure. Charming? Absolutely. But most importantly: A painful reminder that for Melody, being human meant she was not as untouchable as she'd once thought. 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐞 ©
