Her empire is vast Her name is feared Her power is unmatched Yet he is the one they praise "They say that a woman's body is her temple. That she must keep it protected and never allow violation until marriage. But Nereida was no lady. People across the four realms knew what she was capable of, or at least believed the stories about her. No one knew for certain if she was real or even her true name. But the story was always the same. Her beauty was unmatched by any other woman, and she had the ability to deceive any man into giving her anything. Even if this man was a king. And even if this thing she oh so desired, was his throne." Nereida Synderiys was tracked down and hired to do a job. Now, this job was not for those of the faint heart. She knew what had to be done. She had done it many times before, and each time she never hesitated. But for some odd reason this time was different. She hated the king with all of her heart. He had destroyed her family and took everything she had when she was only just a girl. The worst part was that he didn't even know who she was. She could not wait to plunge her dagger deep into his heart and watch the light fade from within his eyes. Of course he was easy prey. She was beautiful and he was daft. Her plan wasn't just to murder him. It was to get close enough to him that he trusted her completely, and when he finally did she would betray him to the highest extent. She had a clear goal. So why was it that as soon as he asked her dance on that lovely night, she forgot that the man before her was supposed to die at her hands? Instead, couldn't stop staring at his stupidly handsome face. |Warning: Mature Content| |Started: 4/24/21| |Ended: N/A|

Every year, Lyra's village gathers beneath the ancient statues of the Fates, offering prayers and sacrifices to keep the creeping darkness at bay. The Ruined Kingdom stands in the distance, a forbidden place where no one enters and no one leaves. A place ruled by a king who does not age, does not die, and does not care for the world beyond his walls. Lyra has never believed in fate, only in survival. With her mother's health failing, she is willing to do whatever it takes to save what little she has left. But when this year's ritual goes terribly wrong, Lyra is taken-ripped from the life she knows and thrust into the heart of a kingdom lost to time. There, she is told she has been chosen. That she, along with others, must vie for the favor of a king no one has seen in over a century. But something is wrong within the castle's walls. Whispers of the past haunt her steps, and the King-cold, untouchable, and shrouded in secrets-watches her too closely. As shadows stir and forgotten magic awakens, Lyra begins to question everything she's been told about the Ruined Kingdom. And, more importantly, about herself. Because the deeper she delves into the mystery of the King and the kingdom he rules behind the walls, the more she realizes: Some destinies are written in blood. And some fates are meant to be broken.
