Only month's after fifteen year old Julia (Jules) Martin's father passed away in their apartment in New York City, her mother had already moved on and was married to another man. The three move together to a small desolate town in Arizona, where the sun always shines brighter than it should. When Jules makes a friend who is not exactly what she had in mind for a first friend in this "Shithole desert".
