Everyone's had a crush. It's a secret, painful, embarrassing, all consuming and more often than not, it's unrequited. What would happen if you took a chance and told your crush how you felt? If you had nothing to lose... •••••••••• "Yes Ally?" she heard him husk in her ear suddenly. She stiffened before forcing herself to relax and turn to face her best friend. "I didn't call you over here," she told him calmly. "I know but you were staring so hard I figured you needed something," he told her with his infuriating smirk. She smiled sweetly in return, "Now, what could I possibly want from you?" His eyes roamed over her face for a minute before his arm shot out and wrapped around her waist. She let out a surprised gasp as she suddenly found herself pressed up against him. She shivered involuntarily as she felt his breath fan her face and stiffened again as she realized how close his face was to her own. •••••••• A story about a group of friends going after the boys they've been secretly in love with for all of high school. Faded Memories
"He seemed like a puzzle to me, and I really liked solving puzzles. But somehow, I don't think that I would ever be able to solve this one." Amelia Heart, with her large smile and her infectious laugh, is what most people would think has the perfect life. They would watch as she went back to her beach house, as she went out of her way to stop and chat to her neighbours, as she would get the perfect grades. She was everything you wanted to be, and yet nobody had gotten close enough to her to understand her life in this small town at all. When her plans of leaving suddenly change, and she is forced to start attending the local school, her life takes a route that she hadn't accounted for. "I just realised something." I say, breaking the long silence from the journey. "I'm not gonna be too sad if we don't end up finding her." I speak looking straight ahead as I drive down the road, a million thoughts running through my head. I continue, "Maybe cause to travel is better than to arrive. It's actually what has happened along the way that counts; the tears, the falls and the friendship. It's about the journey and not the destination. And I know she'd think the same. So, I guess, we just gotta trust that the future is gonna work itself out like it's supposed to." I finish off and the other two don't say anything. I glance towards them to see them watch me with apprehension. We all fall silent once again as the trees pass by us, unable to stop thinking about that one silly, reckless knobhead.
