The clock is ticking. Efficiency is Success. Success is the Future. When semi-intelligent androids replace most essential workers in the field and remove the need for all of humanity to worry about basic survival, The Tusk Time Model becomes the only way mankind can find purpose in their lives. The Tusk Time Model is very straightforward: if you can prove that you are a productive and valuable member of society within the first 30 years of your life, you are allowed to be a part of The Future, the only group of people allowed to have children. There is only one problem - you have to survive the Present and with the Past Police watching your every step, living past the age of 30 proves to be a difficult task that fewer than 20% of the population can achieve. Resident KW 0977, also known as Kaia Wang, feels trapped by the pressures of the Future, the temptations of the Present, and the fear of the Past. How much should she sacrifice so that her life is ultimately worth the struggle? Or will her obsession with time be the demise of her own happiness?
