The story is about Wei Wuxian lost for 16 years while Lan Wangji's patiently waiting for him to come back. Lan Qiren, on the other hand, is devastated to see his nephew in a crucial state; the pain is inevitable to bear. He made his way to Dongyin and look for something that might help Lan Wangji. Secretly, Lan Qiren handed the incense that can travel to the future to Lan XiChen and let the latter help his younger brother. The two hope that Lan Wangji will able to bring back Wei Wuxian in their era so that Lan Wangji will be happy again.
