"Okay, think of it this way," and with that, Leo offered out his hand, pinky outstretched. "We make a deal. Hades likes deals right and you're his kid? This is your jam here." "I don't gamble." Nico deadpanned. Spent too much time in a casino for that. And he is not Hades when it boils down to it. His father may like his bets and wagers, but Nico's luck is bad enough to warn him against it. "Not a gamble. A deal." Leo stressed. "It's a fling. No strings attached. Just some self growth, high school type of relationship, learning how to date because you're so socially stunted type beat. You get too busy, or if I do, building this ship, we walk away with no hard feelings." Or: Like recognizes Like. His death triggers a lot of things for him, and shines light on a lot of his unresolved trauma. Will Nico be able to make it through this without his mental stability completely breaking once and for all? Will Nico be able to let people in enough to help him get through it? And what about the mysterious dreams that Nico keeps having of his mom? And who really is this little girl that knows nothing about her past? In this sequel to Out of the Shadows, Nico sees familiar faces and revisits past places, but at least this time he has Will along for the ride.
