As a volunteer to an experimental project that explores the human limitations and opens another path to evolution[fantasy world]. But, the experiment failed and he was buried to conceal evidence of the experimentation. Disguising his death as an on-the-job accident.
Unexpectedly, the experiment actually did not fail and Rhee was not dead. He was only hibernating because his body cannot handle the force of evolution. He wakes up and gets amnesia.
