after a lot of time getting constantly ignored by his father and older brother, wilbur makes the decision to move out. he would take tommy with him and give him all the love and attention both never got.

tommy has stated before that he's very much uncomfortable being shipped with anyone and you should respect that (so did techno but this book is barely about him). no interaction in this book should be seen as romantic because this wasn't my intend at all. this is brotherly love and if shipping tommy against his will wasn't bad enough then shipping him with people off his age is just sick. you are sick if you do that.

other than that, the story plays on the events of the dream smp.
