Early in their creation, they lost a piece of themselves, and now are trying to overcome their struggles and to find their missing piece. They were created to be a source of happiness, but because of their flaws, they struggle to fulfill this purpose, and seek to find a new one, somehow.

Vitium Cavum. Or, the better known 'Hollow Disease'. Five years ago, in an alternate universe, scientists were on the verge of creating the immortality drug. Only, somehow, it escaped in the early stages of development, when everyone was working to rid of all the negative side effects. Those 'side effects' practically rip a person's soul away from them. Hence the name 'Hollow' Disease, because this virus makes whoever is affected an empty shell with no soul. Now, only a handful of people around the world are currently unaffected by this disease.
