My Heart Only Beats For You
"Holy shit...is that...Toni?" Veronica cuts Cheryl off from her rambling. The redhead completely stops talking before she turns her head slowly, but subtly toward where her best friend is pointing.
There she is. Toni Topaz. Her ex-girlfriend and one true love. She eyes Toni's physique with her green eyes before they settle on the all-star's face. Toni has a diamond stud in her nose and Cheryl can visibly see a tattoo trailing down her neck.
She takes in Toni's light brown eyes, which have seemingly gotten lighter since the last time she saw her at the hospital two years ago. But that's different because Toni looked tired, exhausted even. Now, the brunette is radiating with happiness.
A sudden pit forms in the fashion designer's stomach at the memory of that hospital encounter. Toni was so awkward with her, and she never has been. Not even a week later, she was blocked on every social media platform, including her number.
She got a new one anyway, but you get the point.
Toni seemingly feels someone's eyes on her and she turns her attention away from the guy she had just entered the room with. They lock eyes for the first time in two years and Cheryl feels like she has been hit by a bus.
A multitude of feelings begins to crash down over the two women causing Toni to quickly avert her gaze elsewhere. Cheryl doesn't waver though.

It has been two years after Elaine's death and Choni's breakup. Cheryl is now the CEO of her own fashion/ makeup company. Toni has a different outlook on life and is at the high of her basketball career with 6 championship rings.
The two woman haven't bumped into each other since their hospital encounter. When Betty invites Toni to a party, she doesn't know what she is in for.
Will fate rekindle their love? Or is it over for them?
