Deep in the sewers of New York City, Raphael, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Donatello are four mutant turtle brothers in their teens who go on new adventures where they end up "tapping into mystic ninja powers they never knew existed", and just when things couldn't get any weirder, they have a teenage martial artist along for the ride with a lot of secrets under her sword. Now, they all must learn to work together to become a team of heroes as they navigate the modern world and other hidden realms.

After a few days of staying with the brothers while getting to know them more, each sister started to fall for one of the brothers. Jamey and Raph started dating, and Cheyenne and Donnie started dating a few days before Jamey and Raph started. Mikey and Tasneem started dating sometime after them and finally, Jesse and Leo started after them. When Leonardo comes home from his long venture, there is an immediate strain on his relationship with Raphael while mysterious Foot Clan activity and monster sightings cause additional difficulty. The teenage terrapins must somehow renew and strengthen their bond if they are to have any hope of defeating an evil industrialist's army of ancient monsters.
