A re-telling of the true 12th century love story of Heloise and Abelard. Abelard is a great philosopher and theologian who has taken, like many academics of the time, a vow of celibacy. When he is hired as a tutor for the brilliant and beautiful Heloise, whose mind he finds is his only true equal, a series of tragic events will spiral.

━━━━━━━┓ ✠ ┏━━━━━━━━

Taking place in the cloisters of Paris, the affair has grave consequences. They are forced into monastic life - Abelard becoming a monk and Heloise becoming a nun - but their relationship continues in secret. It continues mostly from afar, through a collection of the most beautiful love letters the world has known. They reunite only at the very ends of their lives and, eventually, are buried together in the Père Lachaise Cemetery of Paris.

The trials this couple face through the relationship that spans their entire lives, and their unending commitment to love in the face of all obstacles, continue to inspire us today.

"I want to defile you, destroy you, corrupt you in the most sinfully beautiful way. Break you until you're completely mine." "And then?" "Then I'll piece you back together, of course." He took another step in her direction, closing the distance between them. "Love can be holy." He said but the look in his eyes promised anything but. "It can be kind and gentle. It can be the flutter inside your chest when you feel someone touch you, the blush staining your cheeks when someone brushes his knuckles over them." To prove his point further, he took his knuckles and brushed them over her sharp jawline, all the way to her lightly dusted cheeks and sharp cheekbones. "However, love can also be vile. Dark and all-consuming. The kind of love that makes you want to fall to your knees and let it destroy you." He let his palm rest on her soft skin and felt the warmth she provided so carelessly travel to him. "That's all I can offer you." Nathaniel Russ is a man devoid of passion. Cold, stern, a tragedy with skin. A wreckage just seconds before the crash. A writer. He spends countless hours teaching philosophy at the local university, waiting for something to make the words crawl out of him with the same vigorous appetite they once did. And he finds it, at the most unexpected moment. Guinevere Westbrook is a woman haunted by the sins of her past. And she just happens to be the muse he had been waiting for, even though she refuses to accept it. So, he orchestrates a game meant for two. A game. That's all it was. Until it wasn't. This was written just so I could get motivation to finish the novel I'm writing, but I kind of love this. (English is not my first language) Giselle Holloway, the youngest of the Holloway family, has always played the role of a perfect noble lady. Outgoing and confident, she's been the center of attention ever since she entered society. Yet, beneath the surface, Giselle longs for the kind of love she reads about in books and admires in paintings-a love that sees past her performance and falls for the real her. Samuel Mortimer, the quiet and reserved son of a rival lord, has always been sure of what he wants. His future is clear, and he would rather be an outcast than sacrifice his dreams to satisfy society's expectations. When the first ball of the summer brings them together, an undeniable connection sparks during their very first dance. Samuel sees through Giselle's mask, recognizing someone far more complex than the confident lady of high society. And in Samuel, Giselle finds a rare understanding that draws her in like nothing else. They spend their days by the shimmering lake, picnicking in the forest, and talking until dusk-losing themselves in each other's company. But as summer fades into autumn, Giselle is forced to face a heartbreaking truth: perhaps not all loves, no matter how powerful, are meant to last. Bound by the duties of their families' names, can their love survive when they were always destined to be enemies?
