Jeff being romantic isn't realistic and making the reader a "psycho killer" is stereotypical.
What if you both weren't right for each other, but oddly enough, you fit? You each are able to benefit each other in toxic ways. Like this is the only normal thing in both of your lives. He's quite literally the only reason you're still alive and you're his only source of sanity.
