LITERARY FANTASY: Xarsians have slain King Margus and the entire royal family. They have forced the port city of Weyvin to pay a geld tax to the usurper, King Derek, and Xarsians now roam the streets looking for fights. The elderly Bogatyr knight Dobrynya has been forced out of retirement after his friend Piotr is murdered by Xarsians, but his unusual plan to right the wrongs he sees is to open a school for training Bogatyr knights, an ancient order of wandering knights who dabble in magic and the supernatural.

Summoned by his former master, Ilya Bogdanovic arrives to help the knight who trained him with his plan to fight back against the Xarsians. Dobrynya was happy to stay retired, but he is one of the most skilled warriors Korovia has ever seen, and with war brewing the good people of Weyvin need a warrior of Dobrynya's stature to fight back against the invasion of Xarsians seeking to bend the people to the will of the usurper.

Ilya and Dobrynya have worked together previously to kill dragons, giants and trolls, but are they a match for an army of evil warriors, wizards, assassins, demons, and anything else the Xarsians can call upon?

Dragonica by LadyBunnette
3 parts Complete Mature
Dragonica was a first draft that has been rewritten and renamed. The new piece will be uploaded under the name Necrotic Dawn Eternia is a boundless world, compassed by three resplendent moons: Andromedus, Andromita, and Jediah. The kingdoms thereof are beginning to favor science over the older, magical arts, which are ever-fading. Legend has it that ancient dragons and orithuns, bloodthirsty, humanoid creatures rumored to now be dwelling underground, sought to eliminate the magical arts from the arsenal and collective knowledge of all other Eternian species, albeit it with independent reasoning. Celestia Lunalia is a sorceress, one of the last of her kind, from just outside of Atreus, an Eternian village just large enough to arguably constitute a town, populated by a tight-knit, hardworking community. Despite her coveted abilities, Celestia leads a modest life tending to her farm, solemnly practicing the arts passed on by her late mother and father, and enjoying the company of her protective lynx-Maine Coon, Violet. Her life is suddenly turned upside down, however, when orithuns surface and begin attacking travelers and residents of Atreus, culminating in the mysterious Ilios, an enigmatic man seemingly unknown to everyone, saving her life without convincing explanation. Everything she thought she knew about her world is brought into question and shattered in turn upon embarking on a journey of discovery, danger, and growth as the world around her erupts into war and she seems to be the only one who can save it.

There, they will have to find the Light to dispel the growing Darkness within. Though this qest is honorable and righteous, the dangers that await them are exponentially worse than they could ever imagine. Whether they can save the world depends on whether they can survive themselves. Mature rating for blood, gore and depictions of violence. TW: mentions of drunkards and beer, mention of physical abuses, a description of trypophobia, claustrophobia, and other phobias, and descriptions of nasty cryptids. There is no depictions or allusions of sex, no f-bombs, or drug abuse. This story was started when I was in seventh grade. I finished the original when I was a senior in high school. Displeased with the finished product, I began to rewrite it here, starting June 2015, then again in 2020. I am quite satisfied with the result, and am sure this will be the final edition. This isn't the first book of the series, but there's no spoilers for 'The World is Larger than it Seems', so you can start on this one. The story is far from finished, however, and I hope to eventually finish the series.

19 parts Complete Mature

In our world, there are two forces. One of darkness, and one of light. The forces of darkness dwell underground, in large caverns and ravines. The inhabitants of these spaces are demons, who are born of fear and anger, and thirst for it. These nightmarish creatures have one goal: slaughter the human race, and take over the world. Enter the forces of light. To them, genocide isn't that cool. They're like, "How about you NOT do that, 'k?" These shining paladins of hope (most of them, anyway) are trained to defend the world from these monsters. The guardians of the light are trained to protect at the 'Гэрэл Чапел' (The Chapel of Light). Jace, who came to the school expecting such, has spent years (one and a half) preparing himself to fight. However, he soon learns that the fight runs much deeper, and the stakes are much higher than he thought.
