About 9 months ago she got a big break in the case and spent all her time trying to get closer to her moms killer but she failed.. Kate gives up on life until one day when it's been 4 months since they took her son when her friend Lanie suggest that she should go and talk to someone and she goes to an AA meeting and gets a big interest in the leader, Richard Castle.
