Greta always suspected that her father was hiding something from her and her brother, she got suspicious because her father would be gone for long periods of time and he would spend all his time in the cellar. Greta was very observant for her age, especially when it came to learning about the dreaded Titans; they were monsters that appeared out of nowhere one hundred years ago. After watching her mother get eaten by a Titan; she, Eren, Armin, and Mikasa are evacuated from Shingashina with the help of Eren and Greta's family friend, Hannes.

Her nightmares are plagued with ravenous Titans out for the kill... She thinks it may be a coincidence at first because she knows that dreams don't always mean anything, but she can't get it out of her head. She doesn't know what to think of it at first because she doesn't want to believe her father and brother could be Titans. Greta wants to join the Scouts to help protect people she loves from the wrath of the monsters plaguing the world. Eren wants to join the Scouts to get revenge by killing every single Titan on earth.
