In the distant future, a disease ravages the world, yet very few are infected. this is because 99.99% of the world has become immune to the violent disease known as vicera. The 0.001% who are not "The Susceptible" are branded as children and taught by their parents to live on their own before they become susceptible to the disease and exiled from their homes and native towns to live among the animals and eachother.
