Minna is sick of being alone. Everyone is gone; her father, her brothers, even the farm's workmen. It is past the time for the crops to be sown, past the time they should have come back, and the farm is failing. Minna needs them back before the snows of winter come, before it is too late for the crops to be sown, but she has never travelled before. But when the chance comes, will she take it?
