Lady Calypso Lyra Éndelva of the Misty Mountain has felt all her life that she never belonged. Not to her family, her kingdom, her name. The only one that could hold her in line was Lord Haden of Winding Willows. Then Haden ran away and was presumed dead. Her betrothal and coronation is only a week away but she doesn't fell as though she belongs to that either. When raids threaten her kingdom, Lyra spies a connection almost right away, but no one will listen to a lady's ideas. With no one to listen to her and her heart in the wrong place Lyra is a threat to the security and safety of her castle. The Nameless Ones are coming, and maybe another group too, and Lyra suspects she doesn't know the full story of a particular childhood friend.
With her kingdom facing threats from every angle, what will Lyra decide? A life in the shadows, her opinions worthless but presumed safe, well loved and cared for?
