The Shattered Planet: Stories from T'Cho

Humanity once took to the stars, and with guidance by their galactic neighbor the Druse, were able to colonize countless solar systems. Those days are long gone. War erupted between the two species, and unraveled into a century long conflict. Until a cosmic event that would come to be known as The Great Dispersion happened, shredding the Milky Way galaxy, and destroying countless systems in the process. Two hundred years later nobody alive can say for sure what started the war, but all have felt the consequences. On the Human inhabited planet of T'Cho communication with the remaining colonies is impossible, the planet itself is unstable, and life for many is short.
This title is comprised of an anthology series with a variety of characters, and is meant to help flesh out the world. After I finish the anthology I plan on creating an entire novel, with the story still taking place on T'Cho, but set on a grand scale. Constructive criticism is welcome, and I hope you enjoy!

It is the 33rd century, war still rages endlessly, and amongst the stars humanity remains fractured. The Galactic Empire, forged on the carcass of the old Republic, persists with its conquest for complete and unparalleled domination over the vast reaches of the cosmos, and to purge that which they see unfit as they spread their perversion of what the Republic once stood for. While independent rebel forces with their minuscule manpower each push back against The Emperor's cruel regime with all their might, they suffer tremendous casualties and are executed with exceptional cruelty. This new spark of a Galactic Civil War has already lit a fire too big to quell now, and will only get stronger. The Empire already has torn apart countless star systems, the inhabitants either joining the untold billions of the Empire, or being crushed under their heel. To be a man in such times is to live in fear, fear of the unchanging cruelty from the Emperor's iron fist, fear of stepping out of line. There is little hope in the midst of the scent of death and the cruel laughter of Imperial Officers, yet many hold on. Meanwhile in a distant and quiet forest of Kashyyyk, unscorched by blaster fire, a surviving Jedi and her family resides. Soon however, that will change, as the Empire has located the family. A young child known as Rosetta Carmine, child of the hunted Jedi, resides in a shack in a Wookie village unaware of how drastically this day will change the trajectory of her life, and the galaxy as a whole. Act 1 is very heavily influenced by The Force Unleashed 1 Act 2 is still in development (Descriptions will be updated as more is written, there will also be a lot of revisions bc I'm always changing shit so my apologies for that. LEGACY CHILD
Abriel Brighton exists solely to give birth to genetically perfect children-a role she has no interest in fulfilling. Created by the scientists who originally settled on and colonized a dead planet with the intention of terraforming it, she belongs to a breed of genetically altered humans designed to safe-guard humanity's DNA. Living in a protected underground society called Urbine's Crescent, she and others like her are to be retrieved once the surface is ready for habitation. However, they've been waiting a long time. Long enough that the idea of the surface world has faded into legend. When Abriel's father is murdered, she finds herself thrust into a conflict where all motives are suspect. As a scout and pair-bonded with a telepathic dog-like animal that's native to the planet, she struggles to determine the responsible party. Instead, violence escalates to the point where law becomes meaningless and she's stripped of all power. Worse, Abriel discovers the Crescent leadership is systematically destroying the only home she's ever known and her enemies are probably her only allies. When a stranger named Porter arrives, claiming to be from the surface and delivering the message that the planet is terraformed and ready to support human life, she has no choice but to believe him. Without his help, the Crescent won't survive. But with it, they just might be able to remake their entire world.Complete

Prologue: Earth has found out they're not alone in the universe. An alien species have contacted Earth, giving them a chance to be protected by the aliens out there that threatens the universe. They inform them that there are in fact thousands of alien species out there. The alien race, who calls themselves Opsidians, offer Earth a chance at competing in the Games, a televised reality competition game they host. In order to win the protection, Earth will have to send a tribute to the Games. They know little to nothing about the Games or these alien species. But after consideration, they don't see the harm in sending one. And realise it might be their only chance.Complete
