Meet Emma Ellerbee and her best friend Roo Bailey. Together, they share a love of anything chocolate, retro 90's music, and 15-year-old hottie, Nick Rangioni.

From tent-hopping on Friday nights (backyard camping parties called "The Tents"), to the annual block party ("Affair on the Square"), neighborhood traditions spark more than bonfires and star-gazing. It's a funny breeding ground for awkward crushes, proving that life doesn't always work out the way we want it to...and that true friendship is often the sweetest gift.

**********

From one ridiculously bad decision after another, 14-year-old Emma Ellerbee tries to navigate her hormones, parties, hot neighbors across the street, a pesky 10-year-old, 4 older brothers, and her best friend.

Has Emma met her match with the Rangioni crew? Plus, how many cupcakes can one girl eat?? Will Roo eventually forgive Emma for that one little (gigantic) mistake? And can Emma finally forgive herself?

[Excerpt from Nick Next Door, Novel is PG rated]
[Light & Fun, Easy Read]

I'm still fuming when I make it back to my house, but the sight of my mom and Roo baking, and the delicious smell of sugar, instantly lifts my mood. "Ray of Light" by Madonna is streaming in the kitchen.

"How did it go?" Roo asks.

"Exactly as I expected."

"That bad?"

"Like if the Titanic was also hit by a meteor."

"Want to talk about it?"

"Never again."

"Thanks, honey," my mom interjects. "For going over there. I really appreciate it - still feel like baking?"

"Yeah, I'm in." I grab a whisk and a bowl, along with some eggs.

It's time to bake.

Bad boys/ players. I hate them, they think they can just walk around and get any girl they want. Well hello, not every single fucken girl is interested in you, alright. Okay, well unless you look like a hot, Greek God or something, then every girl will most likely be interested in you. It's just a part of life and high school. A lot of girls at my new school, are head over heels with this one guy... okay maybe two guys. Sean Anderson the major player, he tried to get me on the first day. I had hit him, and left him standing there. Then there's Chase Evans, major hottie girls, warning: he breaks hearts. Everyone loves him, guys want to be like him, and the girls all want him. Me, well I just think he's an annoying ass! Meet Aurora Hayes, a feisty seventeen year old girl with a love for swearing. She has a mind of her own, and she doesn't give a fuck what people think of her... okay well maybe she does a little. Aurora never would've thought in her entire life that she would have guys in love with her, let alone four of them. Mike Thompson, Sean Anderson, Jonathan Anderson and Chase Evans. So how is it that all the guys want her? Who will she fall for and who will be left heartbroken? There will be laughs, there will be tears, love will happen, and hearts will be broken. This is a three book THRILLogy love story. With lots of sex. And it's true! (Mostly) Okay I admit it. I'm sexually naïve, thirty eight years old, divorced, no kids. My name is Morgan Reynolds. I'm trying hard to break from a predictable life and my mother. I'm desperate and proclaim a new mantra. This is the year of Why Not. Then I meet successful, handsome Dominick Chandler who seems emotionally distant and starkly forthright. Later, I text the usual 'getting-to-know-you' questions. "What's the craziest thing you've ever done?" Nick's reply sends me running around my bedroom in a flushed panic. Swingers parties and sex with people watching at clubs? WHAT? Nick wants me - but on his own terms. Shocked and intrigued, in true librarian-style, I research Cosmo, Women's Health, Sex w/Emily, Reddit forums, etc. It's everywhere! Upscale swinging is the new sexual revolution. Nick's daring me to cross the line. I've always been one to resist temptation. Fingers shaking, I text, "I'm in. For what, I'm not sure." Why Not, right? Nick plunges us into the world of sex clubs and public and private parties where we savor primal passions like never before. Curious and willing, I have my first girl/girl experiences. We even indulge at hotel takeover extravaganzas. So many steamy hot experiences! At a swanky charity event, I discover my boss's wife is into swinging solo. But it's not all fun and games as I question my morals and my motivation. Is this whirlwind of black-tie events, dinners at exclusive restaurants, a trip to Paris, elegance, opulence, and wild sexcapades enough for me? I try to draw closer to Nick but question myself, 'Can this scorching sexpact even become a relationship?' Nick stays emotionally distant, even after sharing a glimpse into his troubled past. Slowly Nick shares his new found emotions only for tragedy to strike. I am left to decide: a life searching for love, or the thrill of adventure with me calling the shots? Or might I seek both?
