Based off a theory my friend and I were discussing, don't know where we got it from but props to whoever it was :)
When Steve went back in time to return the stones, he stayed in the 1940s with Peggy, or did he? Could he leave one if his teammates behind? He has to at least try and bring her back.

Romanogers: Cold as Ice
First, this is a fanfic for Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow and Steve Rogers/Captain America. Second, this will kind of go through the MCU timeline but not a lot. It will jump around and have some new parts. Third, I don't know everything about the Avengers but I know enough (I think). Fourth, this might have spelling errors and I'm sorry if it does. No one really expected how easy to get the sacrifice back opposite to how hard it was to get the stone, but no one's gonna complain on getting Natasha Romanoff back, it was what everyone wanted. After Steve got Natasha back they sat down for a moment and talked about the possibilities of Steve staying in his original time. What happens if he stays, how will it affect Natasha?
