Dave and Maria meet when he rescues her from a riptide at the local beach, and they fall in love.

From then on, they live and work together, Maria never questioning Dave's place in her life, or his in hers... until one fateful afternoon, when hiking in the Andes something unexpected happens which changes everything forever - crossing the Bridge of Spirits.
