Emilia Wilson is nice, shy, and just trying to get through high school. With the help of her best friend, Hazel, she manages as best as she can. But when the bullying gets too much to handle, she seeks the help of Redwood High's fixer.

Nathan Caldwell is not only Redwood's resident fixer but also its bad boy. He agrees to fake date Mia on one condition. Together, they must accomplish a list of her fears so by the time they break up, she can see the world in a new light and stand up for herself all on her own.

Together, the two face snakes, men that are assholes, the thrills of sneaking out, and more. Throw in a high school party, a flirty best friend, barriers breaking down, and a friendship that means more than either thought possible. Keeping up a charade, especially one where kisses are exchanged, proves to be harder and harder as the school year goes on. Feelings may start to form but it's all fake. Right?

"We said whoever eats the most pizza has to do the dare no matter how cruel or easy it is." This is just a glimpse of our sleepovers. Ivy and Autumn always drag me into some kind of trap to do their evil dares. Tonight, they used my worst weakness, food. Sighing, "fine. I'll take the dare." They cheered and high-fived as I stood in front of them, glaring. "Better not be something bad!" I blurted, making them snap out of their cheering. They looked at me with a sinister smirk. The smirk where you know their up to something. Something bad. - Meet Jade Williams. Your average girl in every single way.
