Marinette and Adrien used to be great friends. Marinette was fostered at the Agreste Mansion long ago when her parents were drafted into the war, fighting for the Western Rebellion. The two got along perfectly until one day they accidentally find themselves in a cave, while separated they are both offered magical jewels that can grant them super-natural powers. Marinette is offered the Miraculous of the Ladybug who fights for the Northern Force. Adrien is offered the Miraculous of the White Cat, he battles for the Western Rebellion. Both now fight for what they think is the greater good. Neither come out the same. In the end, the question is... who will break first?

Adrien had gotten into one of the biggest arguments he had ever had with his father, leading him to run from his home as his alter ego, Chat Noir. They had grown apart since his mother's disappearance. Adrien always tried to speak with his father and try but he was always busy or away. He finally snapped at his father. But where would he go for the night? He had to find someone he could trust. Marinette wasn't expecting Chat Noir to show up on her balcony with red eyes filled with tears. They would play video games and eat food from the bakery. But what happens when something happens to Marinette that makes her break? Marinette has no where to go so Chat decides to be that place. And every time her 3 best friends had asked her, "What's wrong?" she would always say "I'm fine!" Only to keep them safe. Adrien didn't believe her fake facade and looked past her plastic smile, so he decided to visit her one evening after his patrol as Chat Noir with Ladybug. What would happen when the breaking civilian meets the unexpected alleyway cat? Will she open her heart to him? And how long will her mask hold up? 2nd book, a dedicated fanfic to miraculous!!!!!! I don't take credits to the characters, just the story. And this is 6 months after season 3 (Marinette is still 15, and Adrien is 16). Chat Noir's identity has been revealed in the worst possible way imaginable - In front of a nation-wide broadcast crew while facing an Akuma. His life is shaken dramatically, nothing can be the same again, and there is only one source of stability for both Adrien Agreste and Chat Noir now. Meanwhile, Marinette has to come to terms that the person she's admired and her occasionally irritating but trustworthy partner, are one in the same, all while reeling from visits from a certain cat she's grown particularly fond of. He stopped. He couldn't bear to continue. Those words... they- they scared him. He knew exactly why they struck fear into him though: they were true. But he couldn't let go; not now.
