Dream was an experiment. Well, let's be more specific, he was a failed experiment. Every month, Schlatt, their terrible Mayor, would take 15 teens to a lab to experiment on them. After that, they would be released depending on how dangerous you were. 5 being the most dangerous and most powerful, 4 being still dangerous but not too powerful. 4 being you had a power that was very useful and you couldn't use it to attack, 2 being not powerful at all but you still had something, and level one, you are no threat with a random power like you can spawn a muffin in your hand. Level 5's didn't come around very often but, when they did Schlatt would do everything in his power to contain them. When Dr. Davidson and Dr. Armstrong are assigned to experiment on Dream, they find out the truth about why Schlatt is really keeping him.
