Mackenzie Lawrence is the daughter of Johnny Lawrence, but she's opposite from him, she is kind-hearted as she was helpful to others and despite how different she and her father are, they love each other like father and daughter, and she have some similarities of him. Her friends call her "Kenzie" for short as she is known for her beauty and kindness, she got her appearance from her late mother, Odette Hilton, who have 'died' from a mysterious incident when she was three years old, so her father raise her for thirteen years. All her life, she thought she was weak because her friends always get pick on all the time and the popular group will try to force her to hangout with them, Mackenzie ever wondering if the bullying will stop. That is until everything starts to change:

*A new kid name Miguel Diaz move into the neighborhood and became great friends with Rosalia.
*Her father defend her and Miguel from bullies by doing karate.
*Johnny opens up a karate dojo.
*Some of her friends have started to change for better or worse.
*An old rivalry starts to reawaken.
*Mackenzie have feelings for both her childhood best friend Eli and her new best friend Miguel.
*Her half brother, Robby Keene, trains and and works with Daniel LaRusso, Johnny's old karate rival.

As everything change around her, Mackenzie couldn't help but wonder if she will be okay with all the changes around, and little did she know is that, she and her friends will find their true passion inside them.
