"Cas. You're...beautiful. So fucking beautiful. Can I...?" Dean finally broke the silence between them and reached out to touch the raven black feathers of Castiel's wings, breaking Cas out of his melancholy trance entirely with those few simple words. Cas nodded, bringing his shining blue eyes back up to make contact with Dean's bright green ones, and Dean was immediately lost in their glowing, celestial depth. The moment was euphoric for them both as they allowed themselves to feel, stripped down to raw emotion. Charlie, being the good friend she is throws a party and invites Cas. There's an interesting guy there that catches Cas' eye. Sweet fluff ensues, and it's soon after that Dean learns Cas' biggest secret. He is also faced with emotions he has never felt before, especially in regards to Cas. He finds himself jealous and angry when he sees Cas with Luke, and at his brother's suggestion he decides to confront his true feelings for his best friend, and tell him how he really feels. There is a lot of pain and heartache in the beginning for Cas, but I swear it ends on a good note. I hope you all enjoy!

He could hear the pain in his voice, recalled how it had twisted and turned in the depths of his eyes and contorted his features. He could still feel his own body go numb with hurt and shame, only to come alive with pain and dread once Cas told him about it. He hadn't been able to say it. He'd finally been ready to say it. But he didn't. Couldn't. Cas had begged him. Had begged him not to. "Dean. Please, if you're about to say what I think you are- please. Please, you can't-" Dean had waited so long to be able to say it, had fought and denied and swallowed those words, those feelings so many times. Now that he was ready to let them go, they weighed heavily on his heart, demanding to be set free and fly. Kept inside, they seemed to settle in his chest, pulling him down. Unfortunately for him, Abby isn't the most receptive to his presence. They've been stubbornly opposed to his awkward attempts at friendship ever since they first met. In fact, it feels like he's the only one who can't seem to forge a relationship with the prickly hunter. Even more unfortunately, it doesn't seem to matter anyway, because another angel has already beaten him to it. Now with approximately 75% more fluff (er, "down"). (Not a reader insert.)
