A young Sorcerer infiltrates Camelot in the middle of the feast for Morgana's birthday and attempts to kill Arthur with a deadly curse. When Merlin jumps in front of him to take the curse himself, he finds himself transformed into a bird. Cursed to be a Bluejay until Midnight every day, Merlin has until the next full moon to find a way to break the curse or remain a bird forever.
