Who am I? Who am I supposed to be? The main question is...WHAT AM I!? You don't know? Well... I don't know either... So I will just introduce you to what I know about myself...
Hi! I'm Ayu and I am a student at a school which has brought hope for humanity. A school that's meant for people with extraordinary abilities. Superpowers,. I mean. This is the school that can shape the young Supes into Superheroes. You see, for almost 12 years. Humanity was completely helpless, because superheroes couldn't save them for long. So... They all disappeared. Heaven knows to where and why.
Like I said before, this school is meant for the youths with superpowers. Well I... don't have any superpowers... or rather I don't remember having any superpower whatsoever. If fact, most of my memories are...just a blur. But now, at the age of 22, I don't know how nor why, but I think I do have superpowers. If I could, I would give an explanation but I'm still working on that myself. So why not join me on this adventure as I try to find out who I really am, and where I came from. So what do you think? Am I really cut out to be a superhero or...Am I just as weak as how everyone says I am?

A/N: Hi This is Carly! The writer of Halcyon Son, the first ever story I've written as a kid. This was written back in 2013, when I was around 9 years old & bursting with creativity. I found this years later and decided to share the chapters but... of course, kid me never got to make it to the ending. If you want me to continue the story though, it'll have to go through an entire rewrite now that I have gotten better at writing over the years. I should be dead. At least, that's what the government officials told me in the super-secret lab where I woke up strapped to a mattress in a windowless room...Sound problematic to anyone else? WARNING: CONTAINING AMOUNTS OF SASS PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN TO MANKIND In the city of NYC--- Ok. Hold up. First of all, New York City. What, are ya gonna assume everyone here knows what NYC is? Anyway, this is about two people. I can almost hear you rolling your eyes. Another cliché teen fiction with a bad boy and a good girl? Nope. This is about superheroes. I can still hear you rolling your eyes. Superheroes. Like in comic books? Like people with super speed and mutant powers? Yes. But this isn't about the fight they have. More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. And if any of you got any of the references in this description, give yourself a pat on the back. That is a beautiful thing. Six high school students looks like anyone else acts like anyone else but are capable of things no one else is. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else. I am working on rewriting this story and when I do there will be the trigger warnings in the correct places.) (small teaser.) No one sees me. I am a ghost. I brush against the wooden fence.
