A weekend at the cabin, in an out-of-the-way place, just outside Otter Creek Maine, a handful of young adults and college students unwittingly breach the veil between our world and another world of unspeakable evil. It is in this world that they must confront the hideous god power of the realm or the world that they know will cease to exist, lost to the powers of chaos and oblivion. While our heroes and heroines are struggling to save themselves beyond the veil that they have crossed, the rift has been opened and our world quickly becomes infected by the darkness. Monsters and demons are released and a wedding and pool-party are interrupted by Monwodai, shadow demons, that turn the festivities into a massacre by bodily ripping apart the guests. The authorities are at a loss, for the demons leave only ash and the smell of sulfur to mark their passing. A would-be rapist learns that there are forces more foul and dangerous than him, and a writer with a house full of young women board themselves inside and fight off Nhei'hari, demon wasps, that can enter the mind and distort reality. While darkness reigns on, the group confront the other horror-realm, find themselves caught in a contest between two deranged god-like entities that want to turn our world into one of their own twisted visions.
