After rekindling the first flame, Edgar's body and soul was used as kindling, being burnt into nothingness. This is where the story should have ended, where Edgar ceased to be.

But fate had another plan.

Centuries later humanity is on the brink of fading once again, but not due to the fire, but themselves. As the bombs drop everything is destroyed, buildings, nature, animals, and people.

The world as we knew it was burned to ashes, and a new age began as the survivors rebuilt.

That is, until someone found what remained of the kiln of the first flame, and the man in metal armor sitting by a fire in the center.

[COMPLETED : 5|09|2016 and slowly editing ] He snapped his fingers and a red flame flourished into existence. "How did you-" "I'm a professional." He smirked, clearly enjoying this. If I got a penny for everytime I rolled my eyes at him, I would probably be a billionaire. In a limousine. With a hot wife. And a hotter girl to cheat on her with. And that too I'm straight. He flexed his palms and the flame disappeared. "With practice, even you can control your Blue Matter." I didn't say anything, just nodded. "This Blue Matter is stronger than Red Matter. It can destroy beings. Be careful with it." "Uh, so I am a DreamMaire?" "No, Sophie, you're the Dream Maker." _______________________ Sophie Hazelwood, sixteen, just makes it in the world with her confident aura and weird humour. All she wants is to be a singer and move over her past, however hard that might be. But she's not completely aware of what she's capable of. Meet Keith, new boy with a hot bod who changes her life in ways that could have never been foreseen. Join her in this journey as she fights off mythical beings, braving through broken trusts and shattered hearts. The Everburning City

130 parts Complete

Night marches on the Everburning City. The life-killing mist enshrouding the world, the Gloam, clings to the walls. Golems, towering monsters of stone, shake the earth as they march. And the dead rise again, puppeteered by some distant, titanic power. For Corporal Valen Redgrave, on the watch at the outermost walls of the City, the night marks the end of the military life he has known. The idyllic simpering of the watch has ended, and Valen finds himself the pillar upon which his companions' courage rests. For Gwendolyn Aranhall, stewarding a work rehabilitation camp for youth guilty of petty crimes, the night heralds the dismantling of everything she has known. As the Gloam claims the world around her, and she becomes the last thing standing between children and monsters, she finds in herself a heart unbroken by her fear. And that resilience will see darker responsibilities laid upon her. For Crafter Olivia Polden, the fire she commands and the red coat she wears represents the single greatest power in the City. Weirder of a power that could doom the City as surely as the foes marching upon it, she will stand first among those sent to halt the invasion. And only then, begin to learn how to live with despair. There is no night in the Everburning City. There can never be. (Cover courtesy of Mahana258)
