When you sit in a field in complete silence with the sun baking your neck and the stale air surrounding you, you can almost feel each heartbeat of the earth. It sounds much like a human does, but it has an animalistic nature to it. The ground inhales with each breath of every living thing. As everything lives, breathes, and dies, so the earth sustains itself. To one that sits in this spot, to feel each breath is a gift. In these places, one can become one with the earth.

I was drowning. I knew that. I also knew that the hands around my throat, pushing me deeper into the river water was the cause. What I didn't know was who was drowning me and why. It hurt thinking. It hurt to do anything right now. But I still screamed under the cold water and pushed the hands away as hard as I could. It didn't have much effect. I fought and fought, but I was getting weaker, and colder. The pain was overbearing. I couldn't breathe. It was the worst pain imaginable; and as the hands that were around my neck were forcibly ripped off by some unknown force, I slipped deeper into the depths of the river. My hair was straight above me along with my arms. My eyes were open and the water burned. A darkness started to pull me under, taking the pain away. Something big and heavy slammed into my side and sent me flying backwards. Confusion washed over me while i was hurled into the air, bounced over the tree and onto the floor with a disgusting snapping sound. My breath was yanked away from my lungs leaving me gasping for a painful breath.My whole side was numb and kept me paralyzed to the soft ground.
